Guitar Tutor

Hello!!! I’m Jim, guitar tutor here at Amplified Music. I started playing the guitar when I was 13 after picking up an old guitar at a family friend's house. It did something to my soul and I've been playing ever since.

 

I started teaching after I completed my Music Degree from Salford university back in 2009 and it has become my full-time professional passion.

 

I have thought deeply about the ways in which I can communicate with my students and inspire/motivate them to take their skills to the next level. Like Jordan, I have taught thousands of students in a variety of different educational settings across northwest England.

 

I cater to all learning styles and levels of musical ability as well as to pretty much any style you can think of.  That being said, I am highly aware that teaching beginners is a skill in itself and this is an area that I particularly specialise in.

 

At the heart of my lessons is the experience of the student and I do everything in my power to make sure that everyone I teach has fun whilst they learn.

 

Personally, I play all sorts of musical styles, but my heart will be with the heavier end of the musical spectrum. I have written and recorded and performed on many musical releases and have extensively toured throughout the UK/Ireland.

 

I love teaching the guitar. And I think this comes across in the way that I conduct my classes. I try extremely hard to make my lessons as fun and easy to follow as possible. As my mate Stu once said – ‘what we find easy we find fun!’
